Owens Corning announces layoffs in Amarillo

On Tuesday, Owens Corning announced temporary layoffs at its Amarillo plant. The company said the layoffs are due to a planned furnace rebuild and the impacts of the coronavirus.

Layoffs are scheduled to begin on August 5, 2020.

The company said around 205 employees will be furloughed for nine months. Production is expect to resume by summer in 2021.
