Man taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after motorcycle crash in Amarillo

Late Saturday night, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to a motorcycle accident in the 500 block of southeast 27th Avenue.

 A 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 39 year old male of Amarillo, had been westbound on southeast 27th. The rider failed to control the Harley and struck a curb, two traffic direction poles, and a homemade trailer.

The rider was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed and no helmet are factors in this collision.

This incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
