Canyon Fourth of July parade and other related activities cancelled

On Wednesday, the Canyon Chamber of Commerce announced the city's annual 4th of July parade and other related activities have been cancelled this year due to the ongoing coronavirus situation.

"We are extremely sad to announce that unfortunately, in response to COVID-19, the Canyon Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel all Chamber 4th of July activities including the Parade, Fair on the Square, Fireworks Show and Kickin’ it in Canyon.

"We are truly sorry and hope to make next year’s celebration the best one ever,' the Canyon Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.

The organization went on to say the events would not be rescheduled if the current COVID-19 situation improves.

"Unfortunately, we can not predict what is to come in the next month or two.

"If we were to wait until the end of May or June, parade participants will have already purchased decorations, Vendors will have already purchased items for their booths.

"We have taken into consideration everyone involved and did not make this decision lightly," the organization said.
