Two more cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Amarillo area

On Thursday, the City of Amarillo confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 in the area. Potter County has its first confirmed case, while Randall now stands at three COVID-19 cases.

The City of Amarillo will only report COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in Potter or Randall County and no longer include regional cases on the daily report card. The report card will still be published daily at 2:30 p.m.

Since the City of Amarillo Department of Public Health’s jurisdiction is specific to Potter and Randall County, our information and access to regional cases is limited and sometimes non-existent. If we continue to report regional cases that we are aware of, we will very likely be publishing incomplete information which will only serve to increase confusion about what is happening and where.

Information on regional cases is still available to the general public by contacting the State Department of State Health Services; they hold the jurisdiction in those counties and are the best source of up-to-date information.
