The Amarillo Chamber of Commerce's 24th annual Good Time Celebration Barbecue Cook-Off is scheduled for Thursday, September 12. The event will take place in downtown Amarillo at 10th and Polk from 5 pm until 8 pm.

All-inclusive tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the gate.  Tickets are on sale now at any Panhandle Ticket outlet including the Civic Center Box Office and any area United Supermarket, by phone at 806-378-3096 or online.

Online tickets incur an additional internet fee. Tickets are not sold at the Chamber offices.

If you are interested in participating in the 2019 Cook-Off, contact Lindsey at 806-342-2006. Registration is online this year, so if you had a team last year and have not received the link, please contact us.

Submitting the online form or paperwork does not guarantee a space at the event.  Team space is filled with the previous year's returning sponsors first, followed by new sponsor teams.  Space is limited.

The Barbecue is a Chamber tradition, held on the second Thursday in September on and around the Chamber grounds. The event draws over 6,000 attendees and 110 businesses represented by 100 cooking teams.

Cooking teams compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place honors for the best ribs, brisket and “other” meats in professional, corporate or amateur divisions. 100 volunteer judges have the chore of choosing the winners from some of the most mouthwatering food found anywhere.

The Showmanship competition often sees cooking teams use extravagant themes for their costumes and booth decoration.
