Two people inured after gas explosion in Dalhart


This past Friday night, the Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to FM 1727 on a report of a fire caused by possible explosion.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a house that had exploded due to a natural gas explosion with active fire coming out the gas line. Personnel conducted a search of the area and contained the scene.

Two individuals were injured in the explosion and sent to a area hospital.

The incident is still being investigated by the Dalhart Fire Marshal, State Fire Marshals office and Railroad Commission.
