AEDC approves $3.5 million land purchase for possible business park in Randall County

On Monday, the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation voted in favor of spending $3.5 million for 190 acres of undeveloped land east of the City View housing district.

AEDC officials noted the organization's CenterPort business park is almost fully developed. The new land purchased in Randall County by the AEDC will more than likely be used to develop a new business park.

The City of Amarillo can provide water and sewer service to the area. If a new business park is devloped on the site, it would have access to BNSF rail lines and Loop 335 for transportation needs.

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the Amarillo City Council is also expected to approve the land purchase.

We will have more information on this devloping story as it becomes available.
