APD investigating drive by shootings in west Amarillo


Early Sunday morning, Amarillo police officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of North Florida Street on shots fired. The victims at the residence were asleep when they heard what they believed to be six or seven gunshots from outside of the house.

Officers found multiple places on the residence that had been struck by bullets. No injuries were reported in this incident.

Just after midnight on Tuesday, APD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of South Louisiana on shots fired. A 24 year old male at the residence had minor injuries from one of the bullets grazing his head.

The officers located several places on the residence that were struck by bullets.

No arrests have been made in either case.

Detectives continue the investigation into both of these cases. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
