Amarillo's Summer Lunch Program begins next week


The 2019 Summer Lunch Program begins May 29 (Wednesday) at more than 52 sites in Amarillo.

The Summer Lunch Program provides free lunches to any child throughout the summer. There is no cost or registration required. Any child under the age of 18 can participate.

The goal of the Summer Lunch Program is meet the needs of the more than 60 percent of students in Amarillo who qualify for free and/or reduced lunches during the school year.

“FOODTX” to 877-877. Visit the City of Amarillo website at amarillo.gov or Summerfood.org. Parks will begin serving on June 6.

The Summer Lunch Program is administered by the City of Amarillo, in partnership with the Amarillo Independent School District. The program is funded through the Texas Department of Agriculture.
