Lubbock police investigating bank robbery near Texas Tech

Late Friday morning, Lubbock police officers responded to the report of a robbery at a Wells Fargo Branch located at 1215 University Ave.

Investigators said the suspect walked into the bank and handed a teller a hand written note demanding cash. The teller complied with the suspect’s demands and handed over an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect did not display a weapon nor did he indicate to have one. He then walked out of the store and left in an unknown direction.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black male, 6’02”, 200-230 lbs., bald and wearing a grey zip-up hoodie, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Detectives from the Person Crimes Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also assisting.
