Clarendon College rodeo athlete dies after practice accident on campus

Monday night, Clarendon College sophomore Dalton O’Gorman was injured in an accident at the livestock and equine center on campus in Clarendon. He passed away as a result of injuries suffered.

O’Gorman, from Shamrock, was part of the rodeo squad as a team roper. The rodeo team was practicing for a competition this weekend in Sweetwater, Texas at the time of O’Gorman's death.

"Counseling services will be available to students, faculty and staff, and we will share information on the times and locations for these services once they are finalized.

"Please keep Dalton’s family, rodeo team members, coach, and everyone at the College in your thoughts and prayers," the school said in a statement.
