Auto burglary suspect arrested in south Amarillo

Early Tuesday evening, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to Western Plaza Drive on an auto burglary in progress. The caller said that they observed a Hispanic female with a ponytail wearing grey tights, sandals, and a black sweater, breaking into vehicles.

The caller saw the female walking through the parking lot checking door handles until she found unlocked doors. Officers said the suspect was able to get into two unlocked vehicles and take multiple items.

Officers located the suspect walking at Western Plaza Drive and Hobbs. Ashlee Danielle Guzman, 30, was found in possession of multiple items that had been stolen from vehicles in the parking lot.

Guzman was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for burglary of a vehicle.
