12 people arrested in Lubbock for various drug and weapons charges


On Friday, February 1st, Lubbock investigators with the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center conducted an operation to locate 41-year-old James Perryman who is featured on the ‘TAG Top 10 Most Wanted Gang Fugitives’ list. During the operation, a total of 12 people were arrested for various drug and weapons charges.

Perryman was featured on the TAG list due to having an outstanding federal arrest warrant related to weapons violations. Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office patrol officers, Lubbock Police Department patrol officers and LPD Crime Suppression investigators assisted TAG in the operation that included several traffic stops and the search of a home in the 2300 block of 29th Street.

Investigators located Perryman on Friday during a traffic stop in the area of 41st Street and Utica Avenue. Perryman was taken into custody and is now in the Lubbock County Detention Center. As a result of the operation to locate Perryman, these 11 people were arrested on Friday:

James Dewey Anderson, 43, was arrested for a prohibited weapon and a felony warrant.

Darren Fontenot, 33, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Brett Giles, 45, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.

Adam Hernandez, 33, was arrested on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Cindy Kula, 39, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.

Chad Malett, 45, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.

Robert Moore, 21, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brenda Salas, 37, was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Shanna Salinas, 35, was arrested on a felony arrest warrant.

Kaeden Taylor, 21, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a prohibited weapons and misdemeanor warrants.

James Wheelis, 39, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The TAG Top 10 list can be found at www.stoplubbockgangs.org along with their photos and charges. The list is comprised of wanted fugitives with known gang affiliations who have outstanding warrants for various crimes. The TAG website features educational information on criminal gangs and allows community members to anonymously report criminal and gang related activity.
