Amarillo police investigating murder / suicide in Westcliff neighborhood

The Amarillo Police Department's Special Crimes Unit is currently investigating a murder-suicide in the Westcliff neighborhood.

Late Wednesday night, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Bengal on a report that several people had been shot. When officers arrived, they found three victims inside a residence.

One victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other two people were deceased inside the home.

Special Crimes was called to investigate this incident and determined that Travis Eldridge, 21, shot and killed 66 year old Donald Eldridge.

Travis also shot the victim who was later transported to the local hospital. He shot and killed himself inside the home.

Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson was called to the scene. Special Crimes continues its investigation into this aggravated assault/murder/suicide.
