Two people arrested after chase in Moore County: Narcotics and firearms seized

On Friday December 21st, 2018, officers with the Dumas Police Department were investigating a theft at Walmart. The officers were given information about the suspect vehicle and began searching the area for the vehicle.

An officer later located the vehicle and attempted to make contact with the suspects. The officer approached the vehicle, but before he could speak with the driver the vehicle left and a chase ensued.

The vehicle fled northbound on U.S. Highway 287 out of the city limits and was traveling at speeds in excess of 120 mph. The suspect entered the city limits of Cactus and turned around and began heading south back towards Dumas.

Before the suspect reentered the city limits of Dumas, it collided with a Dumas Police Department vehicle and the chase ended.

Two suspects were taken into custody. The officer who was involved in the collision was not injured, but was transported to the hospital for precautionary measures. The two suspects were also transported to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Officers located narcotics and two firearms inside of the vehicle. Further investigation is ongoing at this time.
