Shallowater Middle School receives $10,000 grant

The Shallowater ISD and Shallowater Middle School have been awarded a $10,000 grant through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, a program that helps farmers support their local rural public school districts.

This program offers farmers the opportunity to nominate rural public school districts to compete for a merit-based grant of $10,000 and $25,000. Grant applications are judged based on the merit of the application, need, and community support.

During the halftime show of the Idalou football game, John Everitt and Doug Stutler presented the check to the school on behalf of the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program. Since 2011, the Monsanto Fund program has given over $16 million to rural school districts to enhance math and science education.

Shallowater Middle School will be able to use this grant to purchase dozens of student Chromebooks as they work to create innovative learning opportunities for our students and to promote their digital proficiencies.
