Lady Buff volleyball players return to the court


West Texas A&M Volleyball and head coach Jason Skoch will begin the 2018 preseason on Monday inside of the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" and the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

The Lady Buffs are coming off of a run to the South Central Regional Finals in 2017 as they finished the campaign with an overall record of 23-14 under Skoch who enters his 10thseason at the helm one of the most successful volleyball program in Division II history.

The team will arrive on campus this weekend and begin meetings on Sunday with the annual compliance workshop and team physicals followed by the first day of practice on Monday beginning with a conditioning test followed by two-a-day practices.

The 2018 schedule features 15 home contests during the 2018 regular season including the annual Lady Buff Classic to open the season on August 24-25. The Lone Star Conference will feature 11 volleyball playing institutions for the third straight season as each team will play a one-conference double round-robin scheduling model, in which each team plays a home and away match against each of the other teams for 20 LSC contests.

The Lady Buffs begin their season inside of the friendly confines of the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" on August 24-25 as they host the annual Lady Buff Classic with matchups scheduled against Adams State, Rockhurst, Emporia State and Lubbock Christian during the six-team regional crossover as Eastern New Mexico will also take part in the tournament.
