Woman suffers life threatening injuries in Sunday morning wreck

Early Sunday morning, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle rollover in the 5200 block of South Georgia Street.

A 2008 Kia 4 door, driven by a 26 year old woman, had been southbound on Georgia Street. The driver lost control of her car, struck a curb, then crashed into a fence and a storage shed in the 2700 block of Shadow Court.

The Kia rolled down an embankment striking a semi and trailer.

Investigators said the female driver was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are factors in this collision.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
