Amarillo making changes to bus routes

Amarillo City Transit (ACT) staff are hosting an informational and interactive series of meetings explaining the new ACT fixed route system which will be set in place on Monday, Aug. 27. Residents, especially those who utilize public transportation, are encouraged to attend one of these open meetings to learn more about the routes and services.

Route number will change and some bus stops will be eliminated while new areas of service will become available.

The meetings are scheduled for:

Wednesday, July 18, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Southwest Amarillo Public Library, 6801 W. 45th Ave., Located on Route 6

Saturday, July 21, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Downtown Amarillo Public Library, 413 E. 4th Ave., Room AB, Two blocks from Transit Station

Tuesday, July 24, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

North Branch Library, 1500 N.E. 24th Ave., Located on Route 2, at N.E. 24th Avenue and Mirror Street

Wednesday, July 25, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Northwest Amarillo Public Library, 6100 W. 9th Ave., Located on Route 8, next to Amarillo College West Campus

Thursday, July 26, 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

 East Amarillo Public Library, 2232 E. 27th Ave., Located two blocks east on Route 4
