North Amarillo wreck leaves 1 person dead

Late Saturday morning, Amarillo police officers were dispatched to NE 24th and North Grand on a vehicle collision.

 A 2012 Chevrolet truck driven by a 17 year old male was westbound on NE 24th turning southbound on N. Grand. A 2005 Toyota Camry driven by a 17 year old male was eastbound on NE 24th.

The front of the Chevy struck the front of the Toyota. Both vehicles then struck a 2017 Nissan Versa driven by a 54 year old male that was sitting at a red light for northbound traffic. A passenger in the Toyota, 62 year old Mo Lai Chun, was taken to a local area hospital where she later died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson has ordered an autopsy.

A juvenile passenger in the Chevrolet was uninjured. All three drivers of the vehicles involved were uninjured.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
