Bones located behind north Amarillo home remains of animal

On June 24th at 7:36 PM, Amarillo police officers were informed that items believed to be bones were located behind a residence in the 1300 block of NW 10th.

The APD Crime Scene Investigation Unit dug for 18 hours and did locate several bones in the back yard of the residence.

After the bones were examined locally, they were sent to the University of North Texas for scientific exam. The bones were confirmed to be animal remains and the investigation has been closed.
