Law enforcement respond to false gun report at Pampa Regional Medical Center

Around 4:00 pm Tuesday, law enforcement responded to report of a person with a gun at the Pampa Regional Medical Center. Police later determined the suspect was not armed with a weapon.

When police arrived at the hospital, they found the unarmed suspect barricaded in an empty patient room. He was apprehended within the hour. It was initially reported the suspect was armed.

No one was harmed during the incident and there is no threat to patients or staff at the hospital.

"Pampa Regional Medical Center would like to thank all of the law enforcement agencies, Pampa EMS and everyone who responded to the incident," the hospital said in a statement.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.
