DPS trooper seizes $1.32 million in cocaine: One person arrested

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) more than 21 pounds of cocaine Tuesday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.

At approximately 12:56 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2017 Toyota Rav 4 traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered four tape-wrapped bundles of cocaine inside the vehicle. The cocaine is worth approximately $1.32 million.

The driver – Lino Barrales, 49, of Colton, California – was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Barrales was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Colton, California to Atlanta.
