Two women arrested and $1M in meth seized after I-40 traffic stop

A traffic stop in Carson County on Sunday has led to the arrest of two Arizona women and the seizure of $1 million dollars worth of methamphetamine.

Lidia Baca-Sandoval, 27, and Stephanie Rochin-Cota, 21, were arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both women were booked into the Carson County jail.

According to the DPS, a state trooper stopped a 2000 Nissan Xterra traveling east on I-40 near Conway just before 9 am. During a search of the vehicle, the trooper found multiple plastic-wrapped bundles of meth worth about $1 million inside the spare tire of the vehicle.

It is believed that the meth was being transported from Phoenix to Oklahoma City.
