No. 5 Lady Buffs defeat Western New Mexico, 57-43

The number 5 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M opened their 2017 Lone Star Conference schedule on a high note Thursday night as they outlasted the Mustangs of Western New Mexico, 57-43 in Silver City, New Mexico.

West Texas A&M was led offensively by Deleyah Harris who went 7-of-10 from the floor including 1-of-3 from deep and 4-of-5 from the free throw line to score a career high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds while Tyesha Taylor chipped in 10 points.

WT finished the game going 22-of-48 (45.8%) from the field including 4-of-14 (28.6%) from deep and 9-of-15 (60%) from the free throw line with 34 rebounds (nine offensive, 25 defensive), 17 assists, 18 turnovers, four blocks and 11 steals.
