One person in serious condition after being shot in N. Lubbock


At approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Lubbock Police Department received calls that gunshots had been fired in the 2500 block of Amherst Street.

When officers arrived, they located a 34-year-old male gunshot victim lying in the middle of Amherst Street. The victim was taken to UMC with life threatening injuries.

Almost immediately, officers were able to take two possible suspects into custody and eliminated any potential threats to surrounding homes. Those two individuals are currently being questioned by LPD investigators.

Right now, it appears there was some sort of altercation between the victim and suspects. At some point, the altercation escalated and shots were fired.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the altercation and the relationship between both parties.
