Joe Biden leaving door open to 2020 presidential run

Vice President Joe Biden told reporters that he may not be going anywhere just yet, leaving the door open to a presidential run in 2020.

The Washington Post described the scene as Biden was pressed by reporters asking for him to clarify his statement about running for President:

Biden: “Every time I come up here, I feel invigorated,” he said. “I love this place. I mean, this is, this is, where I spent my life.”

CNN producer Ted Barrett: “Are you going to run again?”

Biden: “Yeah, I am. I’m going to run in 2020.”

Associated Press reporter Alan Fram: “For what?”

Biden: “For President. What the hell, man.”

NBC News reporter Kelly O’Donnell: “We’re gonna run with that sir, you know.”

Fram followed up with Biden: “Just to be clear, were you kidding about running for President in 2020?”

Biden: “I’m not committing not to run. I’m not committing to anything. I learned a long time ago fate has a strange way of intervening. Anyway, nice to see you guys.”
