Millions of people are tempted by their so called friends or peers everyday and turn away from drugs . She was the one that was ultimately responsible for her actions .

Sad and tragic that one so blessed with talent, beauty, a family who loved her and fortune would lose it all because of substance abuse.

What a waste and a shame to have some much and value it so little.

I grew up listening to her music; good memories.

The personal pain and suffering are over for Ms. Houston; my prayers go out to her family and her young daughter who are left behind - their pain and suffering continues.

Wow, Too Sad, Our generation will miss her greatly. I live in North Atlanta where Whitney has lived off and on for many years. I remember her and Bobby used to come into a local club and while they were always allot of fun to hang out with, they were always messed up in drugs. It was really sad. She always seemed like a different person when they weren't together. When she was alone she was an energetic woman, very bubbly but when they were together, they were like a bad chemical mix, he would start yelling at her in public and treated her horribly.

I just don't get the so-called friends of these celebrity's, just like Michael Jackson's friends all knew he needed help, or Demi Moore, she's next and all the people around her are just watching her k i l l herself. It's got to stop.

This is so sad. The universe gifted her with beauty and talent and everything that came of it and she p1ssed it away. She was like a princess, at one point in her life she had the world in her hands, she could of married a prince like Grace Kelly did. She could of done and had anything in this whole world and instead she chose the wrong path. What a waste.
RIP Whitney

Whatever her demons were, she's free of them now. God bless her family.

I am 51 years old and remember all the nights my wife and I would go for dinner and dancing. (80's & 90's) Whitney Houston was often the singer whose tracks were always on the play. She shared a gifted talent with some of the greats. But alas fame has a way of destroying a person a little at a time, and the examples are exhaustless. This is a tragedy that hits not only Hollywood but every walk of life. The Sports World, Wall Street, Medical Fields, (plastic surgeons top this one) you name it. Still, Ms. Houston was a human being with faults and weaknesses like all who walk this Earth. I wish her eternal peace and healing for her family.

Great talent. I will never forget her Super Bowl National Anthem. The best, ever. But she made some extremely bad choices. And bad choices have a way of ruining or destroying your life. But it was her life and she was in control of it. You get what you ask for most of the time. And she asked for a short life.

So sad, another voice lost to drugs and unhappiness. Won't people ever learn that drugs are not toys?
